About Purple Runway:
Purple Runway is an annual charitable fashion show event produced by Kamisol Style Consultancy, Inc. The event was founded by GiGi McMillan, a domestic violence survivor and celebrity fashion stylist. McMillan founded Purple Runway to increase awareness by using one of the most powerful entities - the fashion world. McMillan notes: “the fashion industry is an annual multi-billion dollar industry and I believe there is no better platform to help make change throughout this country and beyond than by pairing such an influential source with domestic violence and social justice reform.” She went on to say: “in our infancy we have impacted over 1,200 women and 216 children in our community with over 227,000 media impressions, yet we have a long way to go to create the change we want to see.” The Purple Runway platform operates with the vision to create a brighter future for women to walk in confidence as community champions along with providing children the necessary therapeutic support needed to help rid themselves of negative memories in order to live a healthy life as victims themselves of Intimate abuse.
